The I-Stem portal allows conversion of an inaccessible document into accessible formats and handles various layouts and advanced formatting including two-column layouts, tables, lists, headings etc. The system also handles math and is thus ideal for STEM students. The portal also allows the students to escalate any documents for manual remediation. The hybrid approach allows for high accuracy in document accessibility required in academic scenarios.
The portal also facilitates audio/video accessibility, allowing deaf or hard of hearing individuals to train custom speech models by simply uploading relevant content and thus using these models for their captioning needs. This allows highly accurate captioning especially for domain-specific courses. The system also extracts text from videos, making the videos more accessible or the blind or visually impaired. Output from these services can also be escalated for manual remediation ensuring high accuracy.
